    Ministry Mission Statement

    The is designed to meet the needs of maturing adults through social programs and outreach activities.

    The worth of individuals in middle to senior years is recognized and valued. The ministry provides

    opportunities for active individuals to share their experiences, nurture their minds and bodies, and strengthen their spirit towards wholeness in Jesus Christ.

     

    Ministry Vision Statement

    Our vision is to help mature adults remain mobile and active, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually strong, through social activities. While also focusing on serving others by using our resources, talents and life experiences to reach out, and help support those that are in need.

  • Children's Ministry

    Ministry Mission

    This ministry’s mission  is to help the children make decisions that are aligned with the church mission. We will promote activities that will help them continue believing in God, acknowledging and understanding all the wonderful things He does for them and their family. 


    Ministry Vision

    The vision is for all children ages 3 thru 5th grade to demonstrate and practice good character while believing in God’s Love.  We will continue reaching Beyond the Sanctuary through Service Projects to let people know others care about them. While doing this, we will continue spreading God’s Love. The children will be encouraged to join the Youth Ministry when they enter 6th Grade.  


    Proposed 2024 Activities

    • Usher each 2nd Sunday and Sing each 3rd Sunday
    • Donate supplies to an Elementary School
    • Donate Cereal to the (Crisis Control) Wee Care Cereal Drive
    • Support the Sick-N-Shut-In with cards and gifts
    • Participate in activities sponsored by other ministries
    • Participate in Easter and Christmas Programs
    • Participate in Easter Egg Hunt and Exchange Christmas Gifts
    • Support a 4-year-old child in a foster home for Christmas
    • Participate in our annual Children’s Retreat

  • Men's Triangle Ministry

    Ministry Mission Statement

    The mission is to provide men of the church with resources and support to develop and cultivate Godly character so that they become equipped to effectively carry out Christian service in the world following the example of Jesus Christ. 


    Ministry Vision Statement

    The vision is to bring men of all ages into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by providing a series of events, including Bible Study, prayer, and ministry, which will promote fellowship, outreach, and evangelism and that will foster individual and group accountability


    Proposed 2024 Activities

    Begin a fellowship of Quarterly Breakfast activity at local restaurant

    • Fellowship opportunities at; 
    • Annual March Madness fellowship meeting opportunity in March to kick off the year
    • Football games in Fall
    • Basketball game in Spring
    • Baseball game in the Summer
    • Support of church youth sports teams
    • Partner with Men’s Sunday School for quarterly Wednesday night support discussions groups   
    • Community Service opportunities
    • Church supported - Boys Scouts, Afterschool tutoring
    • Possibly re - institute reading workshop with Roscoe Anderson Center (Reynolds Park Gym)

  • Welcome Ministry

    Ministry Mission Statement

    The mission of the Ministry is to welcome others as we would welcome Christ, to extend warm greetings to our church family and visitors each Sunday morning upon entrance into the Church. Welcome new members and help them become an integrated part of the congregation and address the needs of the existing members.

     

    Ministry Vision Statement

    The vision is to welcome those entering UMMBC with a warm loving spirit and a Christ like attitude.  Also assist where needed as directed by our Pastor. This ministry is available during funerals for support and repass.

     

    Proposed 2024 Ministry Activities

    • Hands on activities at Second Harvest Foodbank (sorting and community meals).
    • Aid in the mission of the “Sock and Shoe” for Cook Elementary.
    • Support the Ronald McDonald House with a meal or hands on activities.
    • Collect items for the Salvation Army / Battered Women Shelter.
    • Contribute monetary anniversary gifts as proposed by the full body.
    • Re-instate the “Welcome” package with a nice pen and/or bookmark.

    Frequency of Meetings

    Monthly meetings at 11:00AM on the 1st Saturday

    (Except during the months of June, July, August, and December.)

     

    Recurring Events

    Anniversary Picnic or other gathering always the first Saturday in June. Welcome Ministry sits as a body on the first Sunday of June in recognition of Anniversary.

  • Women's Fellowship Ministry

    Ministry Mission Statement

    To prayerfully plan and create ways for women of all ages of UMMBC and the community to connect with God by providing a variety of fellowship opportunities with one another. To celebrate and share the goodness of God and impact the lives of others in the community through our service, time, and talent and bear witness to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

     

    Ministry Vision Statement

    To engage all women of UMMBC to join in fellowship that we grow our ministry as we work together and that women will grow spiritually and seek a deeper relationship with God through our activities. The activities we provide will lead to greater participation with our Women’s Week and Women’s Retreat and other Women’s Fellowship activities to strengthen our foundation for greater service.

    • Heritage Sunday—Feb wear African attire
    • Women’s Week (including Tuesday Movie Matinee, Sweet Hour of Prayer, Praise and Worship, Golden Agers Luncheon, Fun Friday--In, Out and Around Town)
    • Women’s History Month Recognition
    • April toiletry Collection for Samaritan Ministries of Winston-Salem (soap, washcloths, deodorant)
    • 2024 Women’s Retreat at the Hilton Hotel in Charlotte
    • Dec 7th day bus trip to NarroWay Theater to see The Christmas Story
    • Two lunch and learn sessions are planned and TBA
    • A paint and sip activity is planned and TBA
    • A service activity is planned and TBA
    • Sending out an age specific survey to solicit feedback

    Monthly: The first Monday at 7:00pm via Zoom and more frequently if necessary.
