United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church is committed to serving its congregation and going beyond the sanctuary during joyous times and times of crisis. In previous years, we have sought to fulfil our vision and mission, by helping hurricane victims and others impacted by natural disasters. In the same spirit, during the first few weeks of the statewide shutdown in North Carolina, due to COVID-19 we worked in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, Love Out Loud, and the Ministers’ Conference of Winston-Salem & Vicinity to served more than 500 hundred meals to families impacted by the novel coronavirus. Additionally, we continue to support local, state, and national agencies and nonprofits like Samaritan Ministries, Crisis Control, Rescue Mission, General State Baptist Convention of NC, Lott Carey, and the National Baptist Convention, Inc. in their outreach efforts to help strengthen communities in Winston-Salem, NC and beyond. Finally, our Stephens Ministers and members of our church have used their gifts, talents, skills, and abilities to make weekly phone calls, prepare face masks for our elderly, and pick up prescription drugs. These selfless deeds provide each of us with a glimpse of God’s grace and reinforce the hope that we have in God’s sovereignty. May we find encouragement in the words of Peter found in 1 Peter 4:10-11 that asserts, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.”
We are a Christ-centered, biblically grounded, intergenerational community of disciples in the heart of Winston-Salem bearing witness to God's love for the world through the power and presence of the Holy Spirit.
