James M. DuBose, Jr.

A man who knows no strangers and epitomizes the very essence of servant leadership often describes, James M. DuBose, Jr. Born in Greensboro, NorthCarolina to Muriel J.F. DuBose-Rook and the late James M. DuBose, Sr., he learned early the importance of hard work, honesty, and integrity in building and maintaining relationships.

James matriculated through the Halifax County School System and graduated from Southeast Halifax High School in 1995. From there he went on to study Agricultural Economics at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.

While in college, he entered into the restaurant industry with PizzaHut and escalated incorporate- level management positions, from Shift Manager to Area Trainer to District Manager in just three years. He remained in the District Management role for 12 years until he began working at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. He served as the Executive Assistant for several years and currently serves as the Director of Operations. Receiving the call to preach in 2015, he was licensed as an Associate Minister at Galilee as well.

Since 2014, DuBose has been employed by Winston-Salem State University. He is currently the Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs. In this role, he has earned both the 2017 Weston Spirit Award from the Department of Athletics as well as the 2017 Chancellor’s Award for Stewardship. He is graduate Leadership Winston-Salem Class of 2018 and a member of the Little Theatre of Winston-Salem Board ofDirectors.

James is married to Teshuna Worrells DuBose and they have two sons, Jamond and Jameson.
