REPORT FROM THE SENIOR PASTOR SEARCH COMMITTEE

The Senior Pastor Search Committee is making steady progress in its task of bringing a candidate to the UMMBC congregation for approval. Our schedule was hampered somewhat by the holidays and winter weather. We are working diligently on this task as we invoke the constant presence of the Holy Spirit to guide us.

It is a testament to the reputation of this congre-gation that we received 550 applications from far and wide in response to widely targeted advertising. The surveys you completed provided the parameters for the search process. We thank you for the opportunity to represent you in this challenging, but rewarding task.

We have narrowed the list of nominees to our top candidates. We will continue to try and find out as much as we can about these candidates in the weeks ahead through interviews (both by phone and in person), by listening to sermons, by performing background and reference checks, and by visiting their churches.

We are committed to discerning the most suita-ble candidate possible to lead this congregation – the person God has prepared for this position. We are also committed to completing this work as soon as we can. We solicit your prayers, pa-tience and continued support.

THE ACTIVE ADULTS

Will attend the STIX & STONES play at the Central Triad Church, on March 24, 2018 at 12 noon. The price is $14 and is due by March 4, 2018. More Information and Sign-up at the Fifth St Desk.

thank you

We greatly appreciate your kindness and generosity during this period of bereavement. We are blessed to have a loving family and caring friends to comfort and encourage us.

The family of Herschel Dwight Giles, brother of Dr. Francine Madrey.

Thank you, thank you, thank you UMMBC family, friends and love ones individually and corporately; for the kindness shown me during my illness. Thank you for the prayers, cards, gifts, phone calls and visits. I am moving forward in my healing and asking God to keep me in His care. So keep me lifted up in prayer. Again, Thank you all. Rev. Artis H. Smith.
