SENIOR PASTOR SEARCH COMMITTEE

The Senior Pastor Search Committee will conduct focus groups in October to solicit input from younger members of the congregation who were underrepresented in the survey results. The committee seeks to establish dialog with this group to better understand their preferences in the pastoral selection process. Members who are between the ages of 21 and 40 years are asked to meet with the search committee on Today, October 15, 2017 between services in the balcony of the sanctuary. Youth under the age of 21 are asked to meet with the committee at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 in the Chapel. 

 

MEN’S TRIANGLE MINISTRY

The UMMBC Men’s Triangle Ministry joins the North Carolina Black Repertory Company (NCBRC) in supporting the presentation of the play “The Legend of Buster Neal” a story of four generations of African American men and questions the true definition of manhood presented at the Winston Salem Arts Council Theatre October 19-29 2017. The NCBRC will host a conversations on Manhood panel discussion immediately after the October 22 and the October 29 play. The NCBRC is offering free tickets (20) for young men ages (13-25) for the 3:00 PM showing on Sunday, October 22, 2017 with participation in the panel discussion at 5:00 PM after the show. Time: Depart from UMMBC-3:30 AM • Return to UMMBC– 8:00 PM

Who: Youth (in middle/high school), parents and members of UMMBC

How: Transportation via Chartered Bus Sign up sheet and permission forms are available at the reception desk.  

 

WORSHIP IN PINK

Susan G. Komen, NC Triad Affiliate is partnering with African American churches in Forsyth County for the 8th Annual “Worship in Pink”. Please wear pink in the support of breast cancer awareness, Sunday, October 22, 2017 at both 8:00 AM & 10:45 AM services. UMMBC and guest survivors will be acknowledged. Gift bags will be available for survivors in Fel-lowship Hall plus breast cancer materials are available in the Fellowship Hall after each service.
